Performance

Engine Setup

Every new Subaru BRZ model delivers an exciting and engaging driving performance wherever your travels take you. Under the hood, all BRZ models benefit from a new 2.4-liter four-cylinder Boxer engine that delivers 228-horsepower and 184 pounds-feet of torque, allowing you to stay in command behind the wheel wherever your travels take you around nearby Walla Walla. The Boxer engine uses horizontally opposed pistons rather than other vehicles, which use a vertical or v-shaped piston setup. This allows the Boxer engine to be placed lower in the vehicle, resulting in a lower center of gravity and greater stability.

The engine can be paired with a standard six-speed manual transmission for full control in the driver's seat. There is an available six-speed manual transmission available on all models with steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters, letting you enjoy a more convenient ride, with the ability to take control when you want it.

Rear-Wheel Drive

The Subaru BRZ is the only Subaru vehicle that uses rear-wheel drive instead of all-wheel drive, on purpose. The BRZ is lightweight and has optimal weight distribution between the front and the end, in part thanks to the Boxer engine. The rear-wheel drive system balances the performance out, using limited slip differentials to ensure you have the utmost traction, stability, and control when you accelerate around tight corners.

Design

The Subaru BRZ is a stylish sports coupe with chiseled body lines, a long front hood, and a short back end, as well as a rear spoiler to give it an even more aggressive look. Enjoy LED headlights and your choice of 17 or 18-inch tires.

Inside the cabin, you can your front passenger can stay fully immersed and comfortable with comfortable sport seating, metal pedals, keyless entry and ignition, a leather wrapped steering wheel, and your choice of cloth or simulated suede and leather upholstery.

Technology Features

To help you stay connected more conveniently, all Subaru BRZ models come with a Starlink multimedia system on an 8-inch touchscreen display. The system offers standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, letting you connect your smartphone with a USB cord or using Bluetooth to enjoy handsfree control of apps, messages, music, maps, calls, and more, either using the touchscreen or with a steering-wheel-mounted voice command system.

Safety Features

When you choose any new BRZ model with an automatic transmission, you'll also get to enjoy the confidence that comes with an Eyesight Driver Assist Technology system, featuring pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and more. Other higher trim level BRZ models will also come with blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear automatic braking, helping you enjoy peace of mind on every trip around Richland and beyond.
