IIHS Top Safety

Subaru Scores an Industry-Leading Six IIHS Top Safety Picks

Subaru is a brand that values your safety above all else. When you're on the road, the risk of a collision is always present, which is why Subaru models are equipped to withstand a large amount of punishment and still keep you and your family safe behind the wheel. Proof of this can be found in the fact that a total of six Subaru models equipped with optional EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology have been named a Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety: the Legacy, Outback, Forester, Crosstrek, Impreza, and WRX.

In order to test the crash-readiness of any vehicle sold, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) first puts it through a rigorous series of tests to make sure they can withstand a wide range of theoretical crash types. These include Front Small Overlap, Front Moderate Overlap, Side Impact, Roof Strength and Rear. The IIHS awards its coveted Top Safety Pick+ rating only to models that score a top rating of "good" in all five crash tests. Furthermore, in order for a vehicle to earn the Top Safety Pick+ rating, it must also earn a "Superior" or "Advanced" rating in the effectiveness of its Front Crash Prevention system. In the case of Subaru, this is where its available EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology shines.

This may sound like a tall order to just about any one vehicle to meet, but it's not for Subaru. The fact that a total of six Subaru models have earned the prestigious Top Safety Pick+ rating cements the fact that Subaru places safety as a paramount concern, above all else. Here at McCurley Integrity Subaru, we're proud to offer such advanced and safe vehicles to our customers.
