Performance
The new Subaru Outback and Subaru Forester models both come with the same standard engine. It's a 2.5-liter four-cylinder Boxer engine that produces 182-horsepower and 176 pounds-feet of torque. Both vehicles also deliver similarly impressive fuel-economy numbers in the city and on the highway with this engine.
The Subaru Forester uses the same 2.5-liter engine on every model. The Outback, however, has an available 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 260-horsepower and 277 pounds-feet of torque, resulting in a sportier and stronger performance.
The new Subaru Forester lineup offers standard towing for 1,500 pounds, which is formidable and enough to tow many campers, boats, and trailers. When properly equipped, you can tow up to 3,000 pounds, which is ideal for larger campers and items. The Subaru Outback lineup offers 2,700 pounds of standard towing, helping you get those larger items on the road. When properly equipped, the Outback offers up to 3,500 pounds of maximum towing capacity.
Interior
The new Subaru Forester and Outback models are similarly sized, but each has its own advantage. The Subaru Forester has more passenger volume than the Subaru Outback does with 111.9 cubic feet compared to 109 cubic feet in the Outback. However, this leads to the Outback offering more cargo space than the Forester does with 32.6 cubic feet available behind the second row, compared to 28.9 cubic feet from the Forester.
Technology Features
All our new Subaru Forester and Subaru Outback models come with a Starlink multimedia system that lets you stay connected wherever you go around Kennewick. The system comes on a touchscreen display in every vehicle, with a standard 6.5-inch touchscreen in the Forester and a standard dual-screen 7-inch touchscreen in the Outback. The Subaru Forester has an available 8-inch touchscreen display on higher trim levels. The Subaru Outback offers an 11.6-inch vertical touchscreen display on every model but the Base trim.
